Prime Minister Kurti visited the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety

Vushtrri, October 18, 2023 - The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today visited the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety to give a speech to participants from different countries of the world who are taking part in the training "Management of Emergency Situations" 

  

Prime Minister Kurti, who was welcomed by the deputy of the General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Security Kastriot Jashari, spoke to the audience mainly about the challenges and the security situation in the country. 

 

Prime Minister Kurti, evaluating the participation of foreign countries in this training as very important, said that discussions about security in all its dimensions are always important and valuable, especially when it is threatened or challenged.

 

During this meeting, the main topic was the security situation after the September 24 terrorist attack in Kosovo.


Speaking about the security situation in the country, the region and beyond, Prime Minister Kurti spoke to the audience about the terrorist attack that took place on September 24 in the village of Bajnské in Zveçan in the Republic of Kosovo, where the now-hero police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.

 

Prime Minister Kurti said that Serbia, as an ally of Russia, on September 24 tried to copy the Donbas scenario with the aim of conquering the north. 

 

"Thanks to the professionalism of our security institutions, especially the Kosovo Police, this scenario has failed to be realized, and the civilian population has been protected, since on the morning of September 24  these terrorists and criminals" at the place were surrounded, said Prime Minister Kurti, and also stated that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are committed every day to build a safe society, to strengthen the capacities to protect the country and the citizens living in the state of Kosovo. 

 

During the meeting, global security challenges were also discussed, where Prime Minister Kurti said that in such circumstances is necessary, the help, cooperation and interactions of all countries with democratic values in dealing with terrorism and crime, which threaten the security of states and peoples,. anywhere in the world. 

 

"The joining of powers and capacities in this challenging time for global security is the biggest blow to those who cause destabilization", said the Prime Minister. 

 


Meanwhile, the deputy of the General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Security Kastriot Jashari, thanked the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo for the occasional speech in this training. Jashari also thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the continuous support that he provided to the Academy. 

 

On this occasion, Director Jashari expressed his willingness to provide training for all public security institutions in the country and beyond. 

 

Jashari expressed his happiness that the Academy manages to organize training for international officials who are public security officials. 

 

Otherwise, the "Management of emergency situations" training is being held at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, where public safety officials from more than ten different countries of the world are participating.

 

The purpose of this training is to discuss and exchange experiences on international security challenges.

 

Public security officials from Madagascar, Mauritania, Sao Tome, Tuvalu, Senegal, Niger, , Eswatini, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh, Honduras, Malawi, Ivory Coast and The Gambia are participating in this training, which will last two weeks.
