The quarterly report of the Twinning Project was presented

Vushtrri, July 6, 2012 – In the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), was held the first meeting of the Managing Committee of the Twinning Project, where was presented the quarterly report of this project.

This project which aims to improve education in the sector of public order and safety was high assessed by experts and representatives of local and international institutions. The participants assessed as very successful first completed phase of this project, expressing full commitment that the second phase will be even more successful.

During this meeting all local and international partners who are involved in this project expressed their willingness to support the twinning project in order to the Academy in the near future to be an institution of higher education in the field of public order and safety.

General Director of KAPS, Ismail Smakiqi, said that the Academy will be committed to finish the project successfully in full partnership with Kosova Government, the European Commission and with representatives of the twinning project. Director Smakiqi said that the first phase of implementation of this project is realized in the best possible manner. 

Meanwhile the leader of the Twinning Project Mr. Anti Haikio, said that Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in the near future could be as a model not only in Balkan, but also and broadly.

“Good cooperation with all partners was a good and positive start for us to realize this project, "said Haikio. Haikio further thanked all partners who are contributing to the implementation of the twinning project. This project was also supported by Celine Aucouturier- EU office in Kosovo

At this meeting were present legal representatives from the office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, representatives of the Ministries of the country, representatives from Public Safety Agencies and international partners of Academy as ICITAP and the OSCE.

The twinning project is funded by the European Commission, which was awarded to Finland and Estonia, and has to do with improving education in the public safety sector in the Republic of Kosovo.
