A delegation from the North Macedonia Training Center visited the Academy

Vushtrri September 19, 2023 - A delegation from the Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, accompanied by officials of the OSCE mission in Skopje, today made a study visit to the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety. 

The delegation, which was headed by Suza Trajkovska, Assistant Minister of the Training Center, met with the Acting General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Kastriot Jashari. 

The purpose of this visit was to become more familiar with the organization and practices implemented by the Academy regarding the provision of training and higher education for law enforcers in Kosovo.  

During the meeting, the management of the Academy presented to the delegation the organizational structure, the form of management and the methodology of providing training to public safety officials in the country.

The Acting General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Kastriot Jashari, informed the delegation about the history and achievements of KAPS, spoke about the organizational structure and about professional training and higher education.

At the meeting, discussions were held about finding the modality for cooperation in the future as well.  

On this occasion, director Jashari expressed his willingness to continue the cooperation with the Training Center in North Macedonia in the future. 

The representatives from the Training Center in North Macedonia were also informed about the process of quality assurance and the process of accreditation of professional training for public safety institutions and international accreditation. 

During the meeting, both parties expressed their willingness for an even wider cooperation in the field of public safety. 

The meeting was also attended by Sando Kitanov, Senior Advisor in the Serious and Organized Crime Sector in the OSCE mission in Kosovo.

 Also present at the meeting, who each spoke about his own field, were the director of the Department for Finance and Shared Services at KAPS, Rrahim Rexha, the head of the Division for External Relations, Avni Istrefi, the deputy of the Director of the Training Department and Educational Support, Shaban Bajrami and Emin Uka, head of the Quality Assurance Division at KAPS. 

Meanwhile, the delegation from the Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia was headed by Suza Trajkovska, assistant minister of the Training Center, Sonja Sekulovska, head of the Department of Curriculum Design, James N Speros, advisor of Police Training from the OSCE mission in Skopje and Afrim Bajrami, Program Assistant in the Police Development Unit, also from the OSCE mission in Skopje.  

At the end, the delegation visited the campus of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
