The OSCE expresses appreciation to former KAPS Director Ismail Smakiqi
Vushtrri, 18 November 2020 - The Ambassador of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, with the mission in Kosovo Jan Braathu, through a letter of appreciation thanked the former General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi, for his work and contribution to the Academy.
On this occasion, his work was highly praised, saying that director Smakiqi has made an extraordinary contribution for nine consecutive years as he has led the Academy.
"Since your appointment as General Director in November 2011, your tireless work to advance the Academy has achieved a lot. You have always set high standards for contemporary training and education programmes for law enforcement, in line with the best international practices. And you have consistently led KAPS towards its strategic goal of ensuring that Kosovo has stable and democratic institutions of public safety. We were especially proud when your efforts that resulted Academy become the first in the region to receive international accreditation from IADLEST, “it is said in the letter of the OSCE Mission.
The letter further states that the OSCE supports the vision of the former director Smakiqi for further advancement of KAPS to become a Centre of Excellence for Public Safety in Kosovo.
The OSCE expresses its readiness to continue to support the Academy in the coming years to fully realize this goal.
Otherwise, the former Director General of the Academy for Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi has led the Academy for nine consecutive years.
