The 59th generation of the Kosovo Police graduated

Vushtrri, April 18  2024 – After completing the training for police officers, held at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), 445 cadets of the 59th generation of the Kosovo.

Police today took their oath to serve the Republic of Kosovo.
During the graduation ceremony attended by all the heads of state, the cadets swore to take care of the safety and peace of all the citizens of the country, without distinction.  

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, wishing the new graduates success in their work, said that taking care of the safety of the citizens of the country is a great challenge and privilege.

"Being a police officer is not just a profession, it is a mission and a cause for an environment where everyone feels safe and free. This work requires courage in the face of difficulties, compassion and support at certain moments and unwavering commitment to the oath that you will all take today”, said President Osmani.

President Osmani said the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo is the guide for their work. "You will join the ranks of the police to resolutely carry out the responsibility for maintaining order and public safety in the entire territory of our republic", said President Osmani.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, also wished the young police officers success in their work. Prime Minister Kurti said that 445 new police officers will be added to our country, who will serve throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

"The personification of law enforcement and respect for public order, as well as the very image and authority of the state and the relevant society, are combined in the image of the police officer", said Prime Minister Kurti.

During the speech, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his happiness that the number of women being recruited into the Kosovo Police is increasing. "This means that the gender ratio of this generation is 1 to 4, or every fifth member is female police officer", said Prime Minister Kurti, saying that of the 445 police officers who will be sworn in today, 345 are boys and 100 are girls.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, said that this day is very important for the country and the Kosovo Police.

"You will be part of a large organization, built on the principles of equal service for all our citizens and guaranteeing the rule of law and order in every corner of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo", said Minister Sveçla.

Minister Sveçla said that respecting the Constitution of Kosovo, protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country are the clear principles and values of the Kosovo Police that you should carry in every day of your work.

The cadets who from today will join the Kosovo Police were also greeted by the Director General of the Police Gazmend Hoxha, Director Hoxha asks them to respect the Constitution of Kosovo during their work, to take care of order and safety for all citizens of our country.
