A delegation from the "LAUREA" University of Applied Sciences visited the Academy
Vushtrri, February 14, 2023 – A delegation from the "LAUREA" University of Applied Sciences in Finland headed by the director for research and expertise, Isto Mattila, today visited the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (AKPS).
The visit was made within the framework of the cooperation between these two institutions, "LAUREA" University and the Academy.
The delegation was hosted by the Acting General Director of the Academy, Kastriot Jashari and the management staff.
During the meeting, the possibilities of advancing cooperation were discussed, with particular emphasis on joint projects in the field of research, development and innovation, as well as the possibility of staff and student mobility.
The Acting General Director at the Academy, Kastriot Jashari, informed the delegation about the latest developments at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
Jashari also spoke about the trainings that are held at the Academy where all law enforcers participate, about the projects that the Academy has implemented, projects that are related to the field of public safety.
Also, the topic of discussion was the international cooperation that the Academy has with different European countries in the field of public safety.
The delegation from "LAUREA" University in Finland was composed of Isto Mattila, director for research and expertise, Harri Haapaniemi, head of the program for research and safety, high research and expertise; Tuomas Tammilehto, expert for research and development and expertise, Petteri Partanen, expert for research and development and expertise and Sari Heikkilä, expertise, welfare and social services.
During this meeting, members of the delegation made several presentations on the topic: Border Management, EU policies, Criminology and Ethics, EU project funds; Border management, trafficking. The attendees appreciated that these topics are in the interest of two institutions, the Academy and the University "LAUREA”.
