The representatives of the Academy participated in the annual conference of INTERPA
Dhaka, Bangladesh, 14 September 2022 – The eleventh Annual Conference organized by the International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA) was attended by representatives from the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), Avni Istrefi head of External Relations Division and Rrahim Rexha, Director of Department for Finance and General Services.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss digitization in the education system in the field of security.
Likewise, the representatives of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, which is a member of this Association, also participated in the twenty-second meeting of the Executive Board of INTERPA. In the opening ceremony of this meeting of INTERPA members, participated Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bangladesh Asaduzzaman Khan and President of INTERPA and the National Academy of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Yilmaz Colak.
In this conference where all the member states of the International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA) were participants, representatives of the Academy presented the history, activity and successes of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
Avni Istrefi, head External Relations Division, in his presentation during the Conference, spoke about the latest developments at the Academy, the trainings that are held for public safety officers and about international cooperation that the Academy has in the field of public safety.
During this conference, four countries joined the International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA): Police Academy of Croatia, High School of Police "General Alberto Enriquez Gallo", Ecuador, National Police Academy of Liberia and Police Academy of Nigeria.
At the dinner organized by INTERPA, the representatives of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Avni Istrefi, Head External Relations Division, and Rrahim Rexha, Director of Department for Finance and General Services, also met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Dhaka, Senegal, Gunner Ureya. During the meeting, Ureya highly appreciates the work in the public safety institutions and the achievements at the Academy.
The Conference continued with discussions and presentations on the topic "Digitalization of the Police" with panel sessions on the analysis of social media for police work, the era of digitalization of the police system, the impact of the use of social networks and other topics related to the field of public safety.
