A delegation from the Fire and Rescue Service visited the Academy

Vushtrri, 16 December 2021 - The General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), Arton Berisha received today in a meeting a delegation from the institution Fire Protection and Rescue Service of the Republic of Albania. The delegation led by the General Director of this institution Holta Komino which was accompanied by the director of FPR for Tirana Shkëlqim Goxhaj and the director of training and logistical support Arben Cara.

The purpose of this visit by the mentioned delegation was to get acquainted with the model of education in the field of security, specifically in emergency management in times of crisis, such as firefighting, earthquakes, etc.

Initially, the delegation from Albania was informed about the mission and the latest developments in the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.

During this meeting, Director Berisha spoke about the professional training of public security officials and the ongoing cooperation between the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and the Academy of Public Safety in Albania, in the field of training for members of public safety.

Director Berisha assessed that the exchange of experiences between Kosovo and Albania in the field of public safety is necessary and welcome.

"Cooperation for the development of public safety officials is welcome, we as the Academy for training law enforcement officers are ready to continue our cooperation in the field of public safety," said Berisha.

While the delegation from the Fire Protection and Rescue Service were mainly interested in the methods that the Academy has for training and education of members of public safety in emergency management, namely fire and rescue.

The delegation assessed that the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety is a good example for the education and training of security members. At the same time, they assessed that the exchange of experiences with the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety is very important. 

The meeting with the delegation from Albania was attended by Hasan Kodra Director of the Fire and Rescue Department at the Emergency Management Agency, Nexhat Behrami Head of the Division for Firefighting and Rescue Standards at AME, Rrahim Rexha Director of Finance Department and Joint Services at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Kastriot Jashari Director of the Department for Training and Program Support at the Academy and Avni Istrefi Head of the Foreign Relations Division also at the Academy.
