OSCE Head of Mission diplomat Michael Davenport visited the Academy
Vushtrri, June 16, 2021 – The General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Arton Berisha, hosted today the head of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe with a mission in Kosovo, diplomat Michael Davenport.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the work, mission and developments at the Academy.
The Director General of the Academy Arton Berisha informed the OSCE delegation about the activities, current trainings that are being held at the Academy and those that will be held in the near future.
Thanking Ambassador Davenport for the visit, Director Berisha informed the delegation about the processes that the Academy has gone through in the implementation of projects during the pandemic period.
"Although it was a bad situation due to COVID 19, the Academy has implemented almost all its projects, always respecting the measures set by the Kosovo Institute of Public Health", said Berisha.
Director Berisha thanked the Ambassador and the OSCE for their continued assistance and support to the Academy.
Berisha expressed readiness for further cooperation with the OSCE.
"The Academy has made progress thanks to the support of our international partners such as the OSCE, ICITAP and the tireless work of the staff", said Berisha..
Meanwhile, the Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Michael Davenport thanked Director Berisha for the reception.
Davenport highly appreciated the work done so far in the Academy.
Ambassador Davenport said that the cooperation between the OSCE and the Academy has been and will continue further in the field of public safety.
"We suggest that you continue with the good work you do. "The OSCE's relationship with the Academy has been special in the past and will continue in the future", Davenport said.
Davenport appreciate that the Academy is a very important institution for Kosovo and for public safety officials.
During the visit to the Academy, Ambassador Davenport also visited the cadets of the 56th generation of the Kosovo Police, where on this occasion Colonel Agron Rukiqi informed him about the progress of professional training "Young Police officer" of this generation.
The Ambassador also commended the Academy and the public safety agencies for the joint work they do.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety Bejtush Gashi informed the OSCE delegation about the faculty processes.
"The Faculty of Public Safety was established with the aim of advancing public safety officials and we can say that we have managed to meet our objectives," said Gashi, saying that the faculty is claimed to be open for master studies in the future.
The meeting with Ambassador Davenport was also attended by representatives of public safety agencies in the Academy.
The new OSCE Chief Michael Davenport during his visit to the Academy was accompanied by the Deputy Director of the OSCE Department of Public Order and Security Zoran Mitrevski and Shpesa Muharremi, senior OSCE official.
Otherwise, the OSCE delegation visited the campus of the Academy where it was informed about all the infrastructure capacities of the Academy.
