At the Academy were held the pre-sports games
Vushtrri, March 2, 2024 - At the Academy of Kosovo for Public Safety (KAPS) today were held the pre-sports games "Kosova 2024", for people with special needs, in order to prepare for Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
The Chairperson of the Kosovo Paralympic Committee, Njomza Emini, thanked the Kosovo Academy for Public Security, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the UNMIK Mission in Kosovo, for enabling the organization and realization of this very important event.
In particular, Emini thanked the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for the strong support that they did to the Paralympic Committee of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Department of Finance and General Services at the Kosovo Academy for Public Security Rrahim Rexha, said that pre-sports games are very important activities that take place at the Academy.
"The Academy has been and is ready to support this committee in the realization of its activities. We will continue to support these categories in the future", said Rexha.
Halil Kurmehaj, adviser to the deputy prime minister, said that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue to support people with special needs. "As the Government of Kosovo, we are making continuous efforts to improve the lives of people with disabilities. Just in this year, we have multiplied the funds for Kosovo's Paralympic sports. We have allocated numerous funds for the Paralympic Committee of Kosovo, for sports federations and we promise you that we will not stop, we will continue to support people with special needs", said Kurmehaj.
The games in which the competitors will participate are; Wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, Table tennis, Chess games, Goal for the blinds, Paralympic judo, Arm wrestling, Blind football, Wheelchair running etc
These games were organized by the Paralympic Committee of Kosovo, together with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Mission of UNMIK in Kosovo and supported by the Kosovo Academy for Public Security
