The "International School for Police and Commanding Staff" started at the Academy
Vushtrri, Aug.28.2023 – Forty senior officials from various public safety institutions in Kosovo, today started the "International School for Police and Commanding Staff", which will be held at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
This school was organized by the Center for Public Safety at Northwestern University in the United States of America (USA) and supported by the International Crime Investigation Training Support Program (ICITAP) in Kosovo.

"I want to greet Kimberly Riffe, leader of the ICITAP program in Kosovo, for all her contribution to the institutions of Kosovo. For the Academy, it is a special pleasure that for the seventh time in a row this school is organized, which offers exceptional knowledge to all the participants of the security institutions", said Jashari, assessing that the participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge in the field of public safety.
The General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, also greeted the participants.
Hoxha said that this course is of special importance for the police and for all law enforcement institutions in the country. Director Hoxha, speaking about the achievements of the police, thanked the United States of America for the continued contribution to the security institutions in Kosovo.
Meanwhile, the instructor Maichael McGuigan spoke to the participants about the course modules.
Since all law enforcement agencies in the country participate in this school, McGuigan said the additional training is very important for all law enforcement.
"I thanked ICITAP for enabling us to come to Kosovo and offer this course, this is the seventh time we have had the opportunity to work with my brothers and sisters from the other side of the world," said McGuigan.
The General of the Kosovo Security Force Enver Cikaqi, the Deputy Director General of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Ismail Dibrani, the representative from the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, Bajram Fetahu, the representative from the Kosovo Customs, Driton Azemi, participated in this ceremony, as well as other local and international representatives.
The International School for Police and Commanding Staff is attended by officials from the Kosovo Academy for Public Security, from the Kosovo Police, the Police Inspectorate, the Kosovo Correctional Service, officials from the Kosovo Security Force and Kosovo Customs.
The International School for Police and Commanding Staff will last ten weeks, lecturers will be professors from Northwestern University.
