The regular meeting of the board was held

Vushtrri, June 16, 2023 – The regular meeting of the board was held today at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), where key issues regarding professional training and activities held at the Academy, were discussed.

At the beginning, the election of the new chairman of the board of the Academy was discussed, where Kushtrim Hodaj, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, was elected with a majority of votes.

In this meeting, several issues were discussed with the aim of improving professional training in the field of public safety. It was decided to create a working group which will be devoted to the review of training programs and methodologies. Members of this working group will be officials from public safety agencies in the country.

Also during the meeting it was discussed about the process of accreditation and validation of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, where during this discussion the current procedures regarding accreditation were analyzed.

In continuation, was discussed about information on institutional accreditation in order to ensure high security standards of the institution as a whole. 

At the end of the meeting, the Acting Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Mr. Kastriot Jashari, mentioned some important activities and decisions that have been carried out in the Academy during the last year. The members of the board reviewed the annual work report of the Academy of the previous year, thus discussing about the objectives for the current year.

In this meeting have participated the Acting Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Mr. Kastriot Jashari, Acting Chief State Prosecutor Mr.Besim Kelmendi, Director General of Kosovo Customs Mr. Agron Llugaliu, Director General of the Probation Service of Kosovo Mr.Arsim Tahiri, the Chief Executive of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo Mr.Kushtrim Hodaj, Acting Director General of the Emergency Management Agency Mr.Shefki Avdullahu, Mrs.Taibe Canolli, Director of the Human Resources Department in the Kosovo Police, Mr. Bujar Gashi, Head of the directorate for public safety in the Kosovo Correctional Service, Mrs. Shpresa Muharremi from the OSCE and other officials from the Academy and public safety agencies in the country.
