Deputy Ambassador of the OSCE in Kosovo Edward Joseph, visited KCPSED
Vushtrri, March 31, 2011 - Deputy Ambassador of the OSCE mission to the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Edward Joseph visited the Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development (KCPSED) where he was welcome by the Chief Executive, Mr. Sheremet Ahmeti and representatives of public safety agencies Executive Chief Ahmeti, during the meeting with the Deputy Ambassador Joseph presented some of the objectives and priorities of the Centre, which aims to achieve during this year. Presenting the achievements of the Centre for the year that we left behind, Executive Chief Ahmeti, informed Deputy Ambassador about the work, activities, trainings which are delivered in the Centre by four public safety agencies such as the Kosovo Police, Kosovo Customs, Emergency Management Agency and Kosovo Correctional Service. Also, Mr.Ahmeti informed the Deputy Ambassador Joseph that in KCPSED, except members of Kosovo public safety, members of the security agencies of the region countries are trained as well.
Z. Ahmed said that close cooperation with the OSCE mission made KCPSED to be one of the most popular Centres not only within the Republic of Kosovo, but also outside. During the meeting Mr.Ahmeti also spoke about the process of KCPSED accreditation. On this occasion the Executive Chief Mr. Ahmeti expressed willingness that cooperation between the Centre for Public Safety and the OSCE mission to continue in the future as well."Since the Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development is in the process of accreditation, the assistance of the OSCE mission is more than necessary" - said Executive Chief Mr. Ahmeti.While Deputy Ambassador of OSCE mission in Kosovo, Edward Joseph, expressing his willingness for continuous support, said that the Centre for Public Safety is a quite important institution in Kosovo."We all know that the foundation of the state is law enforcement and its main parts are Police. Without proper training we do not have proper police" - said Joseph.Joseph also said that the OSCE is ready to provide continuous support to the Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development in the future.At the end of the meeting, they made a visit to the Centre facilities and some of the equipment with which are trained members of the public safety agencies
