Today at KCPSED began training Command and Police Staff
Vushtrri, August 30, 2010 - As part of numerous training that are being delivered at the Center for Public Safety, Education and Development (KCPSED) today began training "Command and Police staff. This training which is project of ICITAP that is being delivered by Northerwestern University has as an objective training of command staff of the Kosovo Police in managing their work. At the opening ceremony of this training were present the representatives of the Northerwestern University, Internal Affairs Minister, Mr. Bajram Rexhpi, Kosovo Police Director, Mr. Behar Selimi, KCPSED Chief Executive, Mr.Sheremet Ahmeti as well as representatives from ICITAP. The training "Command and police staff" except Kosovo Police Service will attend as well police officers of the Republic of Albania and Macedonia's police
The persons that were present estimated the delivering of this training very highly which will positively serve the capacity building of law enforcement agencies. Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA), Mr. Bajram Rexhepi wished welcome in this training of police officers from Albania and Macedonia. "Their presence in this course is evidence that the Kosovo Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development is advancing as institution with a regional scope. Joint training of police officers from the region will allow the deepening of cooperation in order to provide a safe environment, in fighting organized crime and terrorism, Interior Minister Rexhepi said that there are two things that unites the region; the same nature of problems and common goal to integrate into Euro-Atlantic institutions.
"Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with international partners continues to develop strategic policy for the Kosovo Police," said Rexhepi. He said that all the reports of international mechanisms assess highly the progress achieved in Kosovo Police as a democratic multi-ethnic police and built according to most advanced international values and practices. On this occasion Minister Rexhepi thanked the American government for continuous support to Kosovo on its democratization and development. General Director of Police of Kosovo, Behar Selimi highly assessed delivering of this training. He said that attending of this course will help police command staff to perform their work in a professional manner. "This program gives opportunity to make a better leader role wherever you are. This program reminds you that being a leader you have the responsibility not only for yourself but also for others, "said Selimi.
The lecturers of this training wished success to the police officers who are participating in this training. The Command and police staff training will last ten weeks until 19/11/2010. In this training 35 police officers from Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia will participate.
