A delegation of LAUREA University of Applied Sciences visited the Academy
Vushtrri, January 16, 2020 - The Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Mr. Ismail Smakiqi today hosted a meeting a delegation from the LAUREA University of Applied Sciences and the Training Institute of Prison and Probation Service (RSKK) Finland.
The delegation was composed by Mrs.Kati Komulainen, Director of the Education Unit, Mr. Iso Mattila, Director of the Research Unit at LAUREA University of Applied Sciences, and Mr. Hannu Kiehelä, Director of the Training Institute of Prison and Probation Service (RSKK)
In the meeting also have attended the Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety at the Kosovo Academy Mr. Bejtush Gashi along with the Academic staff and also the staff of the Division of Foreign Relations.
The work visit is the result of the mutual agreement of all three institutions during the signing of the trilateral agreement in Finland in October 2019.
The agreement includes cooperation in the development and co-ordination of higher and postgraduate studies, joint research and development projects, and in the very near future the commencement of implementation of all types of exchanges.
Based on the framework of the agreement during this meeting were developed working sessions between KAPS, the LAUREA delegation and the RSKK.
During this visit the main focus was discussions on possible joint projects in the field of research, development and innovation; in the field of curriculum and distance learning (e-Learning); and on strengthening the international cooperation and projects on students, lecturers and administrative / professional staff mobility.
At the end of the meeting, the three parties agreed to take concrete action to find opportunities for joint involvement in a research and innovation project, and more specifically to begin the immediate implementation of cooperation in the field of exchange (mobility) of students, lecturers and administrative / professional staff.
Otherwise, LAUREA University of Applied Sciences is the most well-known University in Finland among the Universities of Applied Sciences; whereas the experts from this University together with the experts from RSKK have been part of the implementation of the first project for the Academy under IPA I funded by the EU and implemented by member states Finland and Estonia.
