Kosovo Center for Public Safety, Education and Development supported the 'International Girls Day'

Vushtrri, April 23rd 2009 - Today was market the “International Girls Day” which one was held for the second time in Kosovo, a project of German Organization for Technical Cooperation and of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. In support of this project the Kosovo Center for Public Safety, Education and Development offered support for 100 young girls from secondary schools of Vushtrri “Anton Zako Çajupi’ and ‘Mustafa Venhari’.

The purpose of this day is that the girls that have not yet made their professional choice, to have the possibility to get to know other professions which traditionally are considered a males work.

During this day the girls will be divided into two groups, according to the Public Safety Agencies, integrated in the Center, Kosovo Police and Department of Emergency Management. After lecturing from the current agency officials, the girls had the chance to practice some duties and activities of Police and Firefighters.

It was a practical exercise which helped these girls to create an idea in regards to these professions which are considered traditionally non female and in this way to create equal carrier possibilities for both genders
