Mayor Tahiri visited the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety

15.01.2018Vushtrri, January 15, 2018 -  General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS) Ismail Smakiqi, hosted today the Mayor of Vushtrri, Xhafer Tahiri who was also accompanied by deputy Mayor Besim Muzaqi.The purpose of the visit of Mayor Tahiri was to get familiar closely with the work and activities being held at the Academy.

General Director of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Ismail Smakiqi thanked Mayor Tahiri for his visit and at the same time praised this visit as very important.

On this occasion, Director Smakiqi informed Mayor Tahiri about the activity of the Academy since its establishment until today.

The delegation of the municipality of Vushtrri was also informed about the latest developments at the Academy, such as trainings and other activities related to the safety field.

Director Smakiqi also spoke about the international cooperation that the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety has with many European countries.

"The Academy has cooperation with educational institutions and trainings from public safety fields, whether local or international, being members of associations and international organizations in the field of education in public safety, " said Smakiqi. The Academy is expected to gain international accreditation within this year, concretely by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) from the United States.

While the mayor of Vushtrri, Xhafer Tahiri, expressed his satisfaction on his visit at the Academy, estimating that the Academy is a very important institution for the country.

“The purpose of the visit is to get to know each other closely and to discuss the possibility of cooperation between the Academy for Public Safety and the Municipality of Vushtrri ", said Tahiri, expressing his readiness to have continuous cooperation with the Academy.

"Thank you for the hospitality, I'm fortunate to lead a municipality that has such an important institution for the country, such as the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety," said Tahiri.

Mayor Tahiri visited the Academy campus, whereas the Instructors of the Academy presented to the delegation from the Municipality of Vushtrri the Firearm Simulation Equipment, donated by ICITAP from the United States of America.
