The American Embassy helps the Academy

Vushtrri, June 16, 2017 – The Embassy of the United States in Kosovo continues to support the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS) by organizing trainings and donating equipment for training of security members in the country.

Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) of the Department of the United States today has donated to the Academy the Firearms Simulation Training Equipment (FATS) for the purpose of training the Kosovo public security officials.


The donation was given by Leon Lowder, director of INL in Kosovo, in the presence of the ICITAP program director in Kosovo, Bill Bochter and the director of this program Kimberley Riffe. This donation was accepted by the Director General of KAPS, Mr. Ismail Smakiqi.

Director Smakiqi thanked the United States for help offered to Kosovo, specifically the US Embassy that is consistently supporting the Academy.

Mr. Smakiqi said that this donation is very important for members of public security and for the Academy.
