OSCE helps in KCS advancement

Vushtrri, 23 October-  Today at Kosovo Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development  graduated  29 members of  Kosovo Correctional Service, who for to weeks attended “Training for Trainers”, which was organized by OSCE. In the ceremony of diploma distribution were present: Acting KCPSED Executive Chief Miss. Taibe Canolli, Justice Minister Advisor Mr. Rrustem Buzhala, KCS Deputy Commissar Mr. Sokol Zogaj, Public Safety Department Chief at OSCE, Mr. Carsten Tweilmeier, Deputy Chief of Correctional Unit at EULEX Mrs. Amu Mellko, and other officials.

During this ceremony on behalf of Justice Minister Mrs. Nekibe Kelmendi, the persons that were present were greeted by Advisor Mr. Rrustem Buzhala who stressed that this training was necessary for KCS members which helps in performing their duties and in their advancement. He also thanked OSCE and EULEX- and added that these training are welcome.

Whereas the Head of Public Safety Department at OSCE Mr. Carsten Tweilmeier  after greeted the persons that were present, ensured that  OSCE will support more such activities, “I want to tell that as soon as we are informed about your needs, we will be able to design them and after that to fulfil them”, said Mr. Tweilmeier.

This training lasted for two weeks and is divided in two phases. In theoretical and practical part, theoretical part was carried out at KCPSED whereas the practical part was carried out at Dubrava Prison facilities. During this time, participants were taught by Austrian Instructors who are professionals in this field. The participants of this training after they were equipped with diplomas they demonstrated in front of the guests some activities that they learned during this training.
