Turkey’s Ambassador in Kosovo, Songul Ozan visited KCPSED

25.02.2011Vushtrri, February 25, 2011 - Today the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Prishtina, Mrs. Songul Ozan accompanied by the second secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Emre Ozan visited the Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development (KCPSED). Turkish delegation was hosted by the Chief Executive, Mr.Sheremet Ahmeti, General Director of the Kosovo Police, Mr.Reshat Maliqi and representatives of public safety agencies in the Centre. Initially, the Chief Executive welcomed Ambassador Ozan . During the meeting, Mr.Ahmeti informed the Turkish Ambassador about all trainings that are delivered in the Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development by four public safety agencies. Ambassador Ozan, is informed about projects that are expected to be realized soon, regarding the increase of training and accommodation capacity in the Centre. Turkish delegation was also briefed about the concept, vision, transitional phase, accreditation, legislation, but also the successes and achievements of Kosovo Center for Public Safety. "At the Centre for Public Safety are trained members of public safety, not only from the Republic of Kosovo, but also from countries of the region. Our goal is that the Centre gets regional character in Eastern Europe for study in the field of public safety, because here there were many members of the public safety agencies from other European countries, like Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro, Chief Executive Ahmeti said. On this occasion, Chief Executive Ahmeti thanked the Republic of Turkey, its people and government for continued commitment and support to Kosovo in all areas, especially in the field of security.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Ambassador of Republic of Turkey to Prishtina, Songul Ozan thanked high management for hospitality; and expressed assurance that Turkey will continue to assist Kosovo in all areas. Ozan said that her country is continuing to make efforts that the Republic of Kosovo be recognized by all countries in the world. Turkish Ambassador said that Turkey will support Kosovo in the area of security.
"Security forces in Kosovo are also our force that we find here. We do not look at Kosovo as a friendly country, but as a member of our family, so our support for Kosovo will continue in the future", Turkish ambassador Ozan said. General Director of the Kosovo Police, Mr. Reshat Maliqi, also thanked Turkey for their contribution in training Kosovo Police members. He mentioned numerous trainings for members of the Kosovo Police held in Turkey, and expressed his hope that these trainings will continue further. In this case, Chief Executive, Sheremet Ahmeti, Turkish Ambassador, Songul Ozan, General Director of KP, Reshat Maliqi, attended the ceremony of the certification of police officers who successfully completed training "Advanced anti-terrorism investigations”, the training that was organized by the OSCE mission in Kosovo.
