At KAPS is held the visibility seminar for Twinning Project

September 19, 2012. – At Kosovo Academy for Public Safety today was held the visibility seminar for the Twinning Project which has to do with improvement of education at public safety section.
At the seminar were present, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, Mr.Hajredin Kuçi, Minister of Internal Affairs Mr.Bajram Rexhepi, a representative of the European Union, Mr.Samuel Zbogar, Director of the Academy Mr.Ismail Smakiqi, General Director of Kosovo Police, Mr.Shpend Maxhuni and local and international senior officials.
Representatives of the Republic of Kosovo institutions and international institutions who were present at this seminar highly praised the project, saying that the Academy is an example of improvement of the level of education in the field of public safety. Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Mr.Hajredin Kuçi on behalf of the Government congratulated the Academy and the European Commission for work that they are doing which has to do with capacity building in education for security field. "The Kosovo government is committed in building capacity for law and order, dedicated in building human capacity for this is the Academy is an example and the idea of government is to support the Academy in achieving this vision," said Kuçi.
He said that the Academy is the only institution in Kosovo to meet the conditions for higher education in the field of public safety. Deputy / Prime Minister Kuçi said that the Government supports fully the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in order to be accredited. He also estimated that Kosovo has capacity to build an academy with international standards.
Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Bajram Rexhepi said that Kosovo Academy for Public Safety is the model for the operation and its mandate in terms of the rule of law and order.
Minister Rexhepi, who highly appreciated the twinning project, said that the Academy is one of the most important institutions in the country. He thanked the European Commission and the countries Finland and Estonia for their work and support that won the project. Minister Rexhepi said that the Academy will be example of trainings. He said that the Academy will have the full support of the accreditation process.
Whereas, the General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Mr.Ismail Smakiqi talking about twinning project estimated that this project is a good favour for KAPS
"Kosovo Academy for Public Safety is highly praised by the countries of the region and beyond due to its legal competencies, training and education of law enforcement officials, respectively, the Academy is considered as the only national institution of training law enforcement officials," said Smakiqi. He said that the twinning project is a very important project, whereas the Academy is the right place to improve the quality of education of law enforcement officials.
Director Smakiqi said that the project in question makes the improvement of basic training, develops a new program in the field of public safety and the development of curriculum for higher education at bachelor level in accordance with the Bologna process.
