Vushtrri - Prishtinë, December 4, 2024 - The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK), with the support of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), has organized a three-day seminar and study visit, gathering representatives of police supervisory agencies from three countries in the region: Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

Head of PIK Kushtrim Hodaj and Director of KAPS Kastriot Jashari welcomed the delegations from the countries of the region and expressed their willingness to continue and deepen this type of inter-institutional and regional cooperation.

This activity of a regional character is organized within the framework of the activities of the Regional Forum of Police Supervisory Agencies that was established last year with the signing of the agreement for this forum by the representatives of the agencies of the four states of the region: Republic of Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

The seminar aimed to strengthen the professional capacities of the police supervisory agencies in the region through the exchange of experiences and best practices. Another aim of the seminar was to strengthen regional cooperation and coordination in the supervision of police work and to create a stable professional network between the participating agencies.

During this study visit/seminar, presentations were held by the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety on international standards and training programs for public safety officials. As part of the exchange of experiences, this seminar also included the presentations of the participating delegations regarding police supervision, internal investigations and practices for increasing transparency and police accountability.

The seminar continued with the visit of the delegations to the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo to become familiar with the structure and functioning of the PIK and its departments.

This seminar concluded by encouraging future cooperation between the police supervision agencies of the region for more effective and transparent supervision of police work.
