Ministers Mr.Bajram Rexhepi and Mr.Enver Hoxha visited the Centre for Public Safety
Vushtrri, 28 May 2010 - the Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi and Minister of Education, Science and Technology Enver Hoxha visited Center for Public Safety, Education and Development (KCPSED),
Ministers were hosted by the Executive Chief of the Center for Public Safety, Sheremet Ahmeti, the Centre management staff and representatives of public safety agencies
KCPSED Executive Chief, Sheremet Ahmeti, wishing welcome the ministers during the meeting briefed them about the work, activities, concept, vision and trainings held at the Centre. Ahmeti said the Center plays an important role not only in training of members of public safety from Kosovo, but also for those in the region.
"I informed the ministers about the needs that Centre has that in the future in order to acquire European reputation said Ahmeti.
Executive Chief Ahmeti also briefed the ministers on the processes through which the center is passing, like that of accreditation, membership in the Association of European Police Colleges (AEPC) and its membership in the College of European Police (CEPOL). Executive Chief Ahmeti and Government Cabinet Ministers have seen rational in a near future the Center to offer bachelor, master and doctoral education
Minister of Internal Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi, has highly praised the work that is carried out at the Center for Public Safety, Education and Development. He said the Center is with tradition in which are held basic and specialized training for many categories such as; Kosovo Police, Correctional Services, Department of Emergency and Kosovo Customs. "In this regard better conditions should be promoted and created, but the objectives are creation of conditions which are necessary to be invested, we also should have the clear vision of what further, on what direction this Centre will go to have higher education with bachelor degree "said Rexhepi
Minister Rexhepi said that over all, the priority of the MIA is to have the legal basis that with a special law to define the status of the Center for Public Safety. Minister Rexhepi said that in the creation of this law will take part ministers, representatives of the Centre and representatives of the European Commission
Meanwhile the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Enver Hoxha said the Ministry of Education together with Ministry of Internal Affairs is working that in a near future in the Center to have further qualifications of police, Correctional Service, customs etc.. According to him there is a possibility that in the future in the Center to be offered bachelor degrees. Minister Hoxha said that the Republic of Kosovo intends to have an education system which consists of the level of formal education and informal level, which consists of university grades and non university grades. "This flexible and qualitative education system will enable the center that in the future any qualification and any certificate that is issued by the Centre to be accepted not only in Kosovo but also to be acceptable in the global market", said Minister Hoxha
