At the Academy was held a workshop on harmonization and finalization of draft-training plan for 2020
Vushtrri, 25 November 2019 - The Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and public safety agencies, together with the Academy's permanent partners, such as the OSCE and ICITAP, held a workshop where was harmonized and finalized the draft training plan to be held at the Academy in 2020.
The workshop supported by the Organization for Safety and Cooperation in Europe lasted three days and was attended by representatives from all public safety agencies.
At the opening of the workshop the participants were welcomed by the Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi and the Director of the OSCE Department of Public Order and Safety in Kosovo Edward Anderson.
Director Smakiqi thanked the OSCE for continuing to support the Academy. “The OSCE and ICITAP throughout the years have been supporting the Academy and public safety agencies with training and the most modern equipment that is necessary to keep up with current developments in the field of public safety and intentionally that institutions of law enforcement to respond to the continually changing safety challenges, ”said Director Smakiqi.
Director Smakiqi also disclosed all events and activities that marked year 2019.
"The year 2019 marked the recent history of the Academy with holding vocational training accredited by the National Qualification Authority, based on national and European framework of standards and accreditation of the Academy by International Association of Directors of Standards and Enforcement Training (IADLEST) of the United States of America. 2019 was the year with the highest number of cadets in the history of the Academy. At the same time, 17 cadets of PIK, 117 cadets of KCS and 416 KP cadets attended vocational training. In this number are also included 240 FPS students as well as participants in other training, such as the training of 44 officers and senior officers in training of the Staff Commando School, mostly during these months at the Academy have daily passed 800 participants in training, studies and other activities ”, said Smakiqi.
Whereas Director of the Department of Public Order and Safety at the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Edward Anderson, welcoming the workshop participants, expressed his pleasure at attending the meeting on training planning of Academy and Agencies , supported by the OSCE. Director Anderson congratulated the Academy on all the achievements of the last years, especially the successes in achieving standards respectively national and international accreditation , expanding the Academy's activities with international networks of academies and public safety colleges.

In addition, participants were greeted by Leonora Klaiqi Latifaj from the Kosovo Correctional Service and Col. Milorad Çorac from the Kosovo Police who, in addition to expressing the importance of training planning, holding joint trainings they thanked the OSCE and ICITAP for their support in building the human and technical capacity of our academy and agencies.
