A delegation from the city of Norwalk of Iowa visited the Academy
Vushtrri, 08 May 2019 - The General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), Ismail Smakiqi hosted a delegation from the city of Norwalk Iowa of the United States of America (USA)
headed by the Norwalk police chief Greg Staples, Jaki Lingingston member of the Norwalk City Council and Ryan Coburn chief of firefighters. The delegation was also accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Vushtrri Municipality Besim Muzaqi.
General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi welcoming the attendees he briefed the delegation on the general developments of the Academy.
Smakiqi said that the Academy has very good relations with the USA and thanks to her aid the Academy today continues co-operation in various fields,in training members of public safety at the Academy.
Further during this meeting Director Smakiqi briefed the delegation on recent developments at the Academy as well as for International Accreditation of the Academy by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training of the United States of America (IADLEST) etc.
Director Smakiqi also briefed the delegation on projects funded by the United States embassy in Kosovo such as numerous donations, organization of trainings etc.
Smakiqi thanked the USA for the support which is giving to the Academy in the fulfillment of its mission, while expressing his readiness for cooperation with the city of Norwalk of Iowa to proceed further.
While the delegation of the city of Norwalk of Iowa from the United States (USA), were interested in the training process being held at the Academy, meanwhile they expressed open for cooperation with the Academy in the field of trainings for law enforcement.
During this visit the delegation donated to director Smakiqi a check worth 1200$ to equip the fitness room with sports equipment.
