The OSCE provided donation to the Academy

Vushtrri, 5 November 2018 - The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) today provided donation to the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, donation contains information technology equipment that will be used for e-learning.
 
Present at the ceremony were the Director General of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi, OSCE Mission Head in Kosovo Jan Braathu, Director of the Department for Public Order and Security Ake Roghe, Shpresa Muharremi national adviser of the OSCE, as well as senior officials of the Academy.

General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi thanked the OSCE Mission in Kosovo for the continuous support they have given and continue to give for capacity building of Academy. He said that this donation will serve to the students and all security members attending e-learning lessons at the Academy which curriculum is a result of the twinning project of the European Commission through experts from Finland and Estonia.

 

"There has never been a lack of OSCE support to the Academy by providing numerous donations for professional development for public safety members", Smakiqi said.  At the end Director Smakiqi asked for cooperation to continue also in the future.

In his speech, Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Jan Braathu, said he was happy for the continued support they have given to the OSCE Academy. He said that the development of the Academy has been the OSCE mission, as well as one of the main successes with mission in Kosovo.


He also highly appreciated the work and vision of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety as well as the opening of bachleor studies, considering it as a very important study program.


 Braathu, emphasize that this is not the end of support by OSCE, this support will continue in the future.

At the end of this meeting he also held a lecture to students of the Faculty of Safety on the topic;

"Community policing in preventing transnational threats", where in the end the students had the opportunity to submit questions and comments.
