The first generation of students of the Faculty of Public Safety graduated
Vushtrri, 06 July 2018 - At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), today was held the graduation ceremony of the first generation of students of the Faculty of Public Safety in the program of bachelor studies.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Bejtush Gashi, Director General of the Academy of Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi, Director of the Department for Public Order and Security in the OSCE Ake Fogh, acting general director of Kosovo Police Naim Rexha, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety Nexhat Jashari, Laura Dobruna, Head of the Department of Resources at Kosovo Customs, Director General of Kosovo Correctional Service Nehat Thaçi, General Director of Emergency Management Agency Fadil Kodra, Acting Chief Executive of Police Inspectorate of Kosova Miradije Kelmendi, academic staff and other representatives of local and international institutions.
General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi praising students for their success, said that the Academy will continue to be a good example for the provision of quality education in the field of safety.
Smakiqi said that the study program created by the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and accredited by the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation is supported by local and international institutions.
"European Union support continued in the second twinning project, and was also implemented by experts from Finland and Estonia and as a result of the second component of this project in September 2017, this study program was accredited by the Kosovo Accreditation Agency , "said Smakiqi, saying that the Academy as a bachelor's institution and bachelor's study program in public safety in the new accreditation process was highest-rated by the German experts , while self-evaluation reports were estimated as reports with standard to be followed as an example.
Director Smakiqi said the bachelor public safety study program with 240 credits was based on the needs of public safety institutions.
"The Academy's study program is a unique and distinctive concept not only in Kosovo but in the region and beyond," said Smakiqi, "Mobility through the ERASMUS + and CEPOL exchange program has also been a distinctive feature of the study in The Faculty of Public Safety whereas he said the students have benefited from the exchange through ERASMUS + and CEPOL
Smakiqi during the ceremony mentioned the international accreditation of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety of the International Association of Directors of Standards and Law Enforcement Training of United States of America - IADLEST.
Whereas Minister of Internal Affairs Bejtush Gashi providing support to the Academy for newly graduated students said that the state does not require anything of them except quality.
"As a Minister of Internal Affairs, I have the pleasure to confirm my commitment and support to continue further advancement in order for the Academy of Public Safety in the Academy to be a leader in the region and beyond for the higher education in the field of public safety" , said Gashi, saying that today the most vital issue for our society and the democratic state of the Republic of Kosovo is the establishment of the rule of law through the establishment and implementation of the acceptance of constitutionality and legality in public life.
"This should be your task tomorrow and forever. For all of you who are closing this chapter today and think about throwing the first steps towards the profession and the labour market, do not forget this task, "said Gashi.
Minister Gashi also said that they remain close to offer always a qualitative education for an Academy and for a better quality Public Safety Faculty.
While saying that it was a pleasure to be a professor and dean of the Faculty of Public Safety and congratulating the students on their work, Minister Gashi expresses his support without any other condition, besides the demand for quality in this great challenge for you and our society.
Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety Nexhat Jashari said that the newly graduated generation is a model for other generations that will attend the studies at the Faculty of Public Safety.
"The study in the Public Safety Faculty, honored students, was no easy, it was a challenge in your journey to reach new and higher levels of academic knowledge, research and professional development, a challenge which you overcome with work, "said Jashari expressing that investment in safety education is multiplied payed and reflects positively on public safety and the well-being of the citizens of the country.
Meanwhile, the Acting Director General of Kosovo Police, Naim Rexha, congratulating the students for their achievement, wished success in their journey of career development.
"I cordially wish you the graduation with the request that learning to be a mission equivalent to our lives, and invite you to continue with this very important program, and to continue learning further," said Rexha.
While on behalf of students spoke Zijavere Keqmezi who was happy to be part of the studies at the Faculty of Public Safety for four years. Keqmezi thanked the Academy for Public Safety specifically Director Smakiqi for their continuous support has given them.
The number of newly graduated students is 61, at the end of the ceremony students are awarded certificates.
