Ambassador of Finland in Kosova visited the Academy
Vushtrri, 09 March 2018 - General Director of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi with Dean of the Faculty of Security Bejtush Gashi and Senior Management welcomed today in a meeting the Ambassador of the State of Finland in Pristina Pia Stjernvall, who was accompanied by the deputy ambassador Ritva Naumanen.
During the meeting Director Smakiqi informed the Ambassador about the background of the Academy, progress, trainings which take place and with emphasis he spoke for the twinning project of European Commission implemented by Finland and Estonia, a project which helped establishment of the Safety Faculty.
Director Smakiqi also spoke about the new twinning project which aims to "Further Support Education in Public Safety in Kosovo".Director Smakiqi also talked about the international cooperation that the Academy has with the security institutions of various European countries and about the membership of the Academy in the Association of European Police Colleges (AEPC) and the International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA).
Director Smakiqi at the end thanked Ambassador Stjernvall for the visit, and he also expressed the heartily thanks Finland for all has given for Kosovo and in particular for the Academy.
While in her speech, the Finnish Ambassador in Kosovo, Pia Stjernvall congratulated the Director Smakiqi for the progress and developments in the Academy.
"You have done a great job in reforming your institution, in training and educating public safety members, where the Academy is an example of a superior education", said Ambassador Stjernvall.
At the end Stjernvall expressed unreserved support for the Academy in the future.
While Deputy Ambassador Ritva Naumanen said that you should feel proud of the reputation that the Academy has established in its mission.
Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety at the Academy Bejtush Gashi said that the Academy is a very important institution in the training and higher education for members of public safety.
He thanked the European Union in particular Finland who have made an extraordinary contribution on developing higher education in KAPS.
In the end they visited the objects of the Academy, where by the instructors were informed about the practical part where officials also conduct training.
