A delegation from the Centre of Excellence of NATO Policing Stability has visited the Academy
Vushtrri, 27 April 2017 - The General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), Mr. Ismail Smakiqi, welcomed today a delegation from the Center of Excellence of NATO Policing Stability in Kosovo headed by Emmanuele Pesce and Liviu SIIA.
In this meeting took part Driton Zabërxha Lieutenant-Colonel in Kosovo Police and senior management of the Academy.
Director of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi informed the concerned delegation about the history, mission and vision of the Academy.
Also, the delegation was informed about the overall achievements of the Academy, education at the Faculty of Public Safety, international co-operation and cooperation that have Academy with the KFOR. Director Smakiqi also spoke about important processes that KAPS has passed since its establishment so far.
During the meeting of the senior management of the Academy, namely the Department of Training and Program Support, was presented the curriculum plan as well as the trainings held at the Academy.
Lt. Colonel Driton Zabërxha informed the concerned delegation about the basic training process of the Kosovo Police, specialized and advanced trainings as well as the manner of grading.
At the end the delegation ask questions about many issues related to the training of public safety officers, the focus was interested in police training.
At the end the delegation visited the Academy's facilities such as sports halls, firearms shooting ranges, classrooms where instructors informed them more on practical training for safety members.
At this meeting was also presented the documentary film about the cadet's life at the Academy.
