The "Operational Command" training of police women in senior positions is completed

Vushtrri, March 17, 2017 – Today, at Kosovo Academy for Public Safety the "Operational Command" training for women in senior positions in the Kosovo Police was completed. The training which was supported by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in cooperation with the Kosovo Police and the Association of Women Police aims to empower women in senior operational police stations.

In the ceremony of certification present were the Director of the Department for Public Order and Security in the OSCE Mr. Ake Fogh, the Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Mr. Ismail Smakiqi, the Head of the Association of Women in Kosovo Police Mrs. Taibe Canolli, Mrs. Shpresa Muharremi and Mrs. Shpresa Mulliqi from OSCE and the representatives of Kosovo Police.
The participants in this ceremony of certification assessed that the empowerment of police woman is important for Kosovo.

The Director of the Department for Public Order and Security in the OSCE z.Ake Roghe, is glad that OSCE is supporting the empowerment of women in Kosovo Police. Mr. Roghe said that the training in question is in the second phase and it is a continuation of training that was held in July of the previous year.

"Whereas we are at the preparation of the third phase of women police to have opportunity to visit police stations in the region in order to raise their professional skills and to get familiarized with their internship", said z.Roghe.
 
While the Director General of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Mr. Ismail Smakiqi, thanked the OSCE for the support and the possibility of conducting this training for the first time at the Academy.


"You, with your ranks and the capacity enhancement in this training are showing that you are the successful manager in your work in the Kosovo Police, and it makes us proud", said Smakiqi.
 

While, the Head of the Association of Women of Kosovo Police, Mrs. Taibe Canolli, the lecturer at this training was Ms. Jane Townsley from "Force International" - International experts in the security segment.


The training lasted five days and participants in the training were thirteen of KP superior, by all regional directorates and ethnic groups, selected from the first above-mentioned training module was held in July last year in DPS-Pristina.
