At the Academy started the Police Staff and Command School training
Vushtrri, February 20, 2017 - Today at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety started the ten weeks training of the Police Staff and Command School, which is being held for the fifth time. At the opening of this training were present Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Valdet Hoxha, Program Manager of ICITAP in Kosovo, William Bochter, ICITAP program senior official Drita Perezic, Director General of the Kosovo Police, Shpend Maxhuni, General Director of KAPS, Ismail Smakiqi, as well as other officials from these institutions.
In his speech, Bochter spoke of the importance of this training, where teachers are from Northwestern University from the United States. He expressed his appreciation for the contribution that KAPS has always provided on supporting for holding this session, by highlighting always the increasment of participants level after its completion. "ICITAP is gretaful to the Academy for its support to this training and all activities which develops in partnership, by thanking for the commitment and professionalism shown during these years" - said Lord Bochter.
In his speech, Director of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, talked about the history of this training held at KAPS, he recalled the regional character that has had this training during the previous four times. Director Smakiqi continued to elaborate about the high level of training provided by Northwestern University's prestigious teachers from the United States. "Training and education of law enforcement, which fundamentally have equal treatment and the right of all citizens and respect for human rights, today is undoubtedly fundamental principle of modern societies, including training institutions and education enforcer law ", added Smakiqi.
By addressing the students Smakiqi Director he further said that: 'Take this unique opportunity in your career to benefit from this training. You have to be dedicated to tasks. Success would make you proud not only you and your families, your success will make everyone proud of your colleagues and in particular those who were selected to be part of this training. "
While the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Valdet Hoxha, spoke with regards to the high quality that the training offers in the school, sharing with the audience his personal experience, when he was attending the training of the first generation. While for KAPS Hoxha said that the seriousness and level that is shown, is already regarded as one of the most popular academies in our region. Deputy Hoxha spoke about the successes of the Kosovo Police, stating that today "Kosovo police is the most trusted institution not only in Kosovo but also in the region, which is witnessed by reports of research institutions with international credibility"
Director General of Police, Shpend Maxhunaj also expressed gratitude to the organizers of the ICITAP training program in Kosovo and thanked KAPS for the support that has always given to this important event. Following his speech, the Director Maxhunaj spoke about the importance of all officials participating in this training, especially those from the police, which, according to him, this training will enable them to advance and professionalise further positions as senior management within the organization. Director Maxhunaj further said that "the majority of police officers who attend this training, today are in managing positions in the Kosovo Police."
School of Police Staff and Command was held at the Academy for Public Safety for the fifth time. This School is organized by the ICITAP program in Kosovo. Its participants were senior officials in the fields of public security of all countries in the region of South East Europe. While this time it was organized only for public safety officials from Kosovo.
