Promotion of the book "Leadership in the State Police" by dr.sc Bilbil Memaj

Vushtrri, 18 October 2016 – At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), today was the promotion of the book "Leadership in the State Police - Case of Albania", of the author dr.sc of sciences Bilbil Memaj , who is Director General of the Academy of Safety in Albania.

The promotion ceremony was opened by the Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi, who thanked the author of the book Memaj for accepting the invitation that this event be held at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.

Director Smakiqi highly appreciated the personality of Memaj, former director of the State Police, who for two years in the post of Director General of the Academy of Safety, worked to reform the police education system respectively, advancing basic course for police, study program at the Faculty of Security and Investigation, study program Bachelor, Master Professional and Master of Science Studies programs.

In the promotion of the book took part Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo, Qemal Minxhozi, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Nehat Mustafa, senior officer of the state police headed by Deputy Director General of Public Safety in the State Police, Altin Qato as the senior officer of the Kosovo Police, headed by the Director of Investigation Department Riza Shillova. Promotion also attended the teachers of Faculty of Safety, students and leadership of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.

Deputy Minister Mustafa emphasized the need to support the both Academies in the advancement of training and higher education in order to increase the capacities of the police of the two countries and other agencies of law enforcement. He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation of academies including training of motorcycles unit, which is currently developing at the Academy.
"We can say that Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and Safety Academy of Albania are an example of cooperation to other institutions," said Mustafa.

While the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo, Qemal Minxhozi, thanked director Smakiqi for the invitation and congratulated Memaj for book. On this occasion, Ambassador Minxhozi praised the work of Memaj throughout his career.

In addition, the appraisals for the book were given by Riza Shillova, director of the Investigation Department, Head of the Training Department of the State Police Besnik Bakiu, and Bejtush Gashi, a professor in the Faculty of Public Safety at the Academy.

At the end of this event author of the book, Bilbil Memaj thanked the Academy for organizing this event and all those who are committed to the realization of this event. The author Memaj at the end of the ceremony shared the books to participants and donated ten copies to the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and five copies to the National Library of Kosovo.
