Regional training “Border green line “has ended

Vushtrri, May 20, 2016 –At Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), today has ended regional training “Border green line”, which lasted a week. In the training has attended 25 police officers from the regional countries such as: Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

The training was organized by ICITAP (International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program) of Department of Justice of the United States.

The certification ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the United States of America Greg Delawie, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Valdet Hoxha, Cameron Fisher ICITAP Program Manager, Shpend Maxhuni, Director General of Kosovo Police, and Kastriot Jashari, Director of Training and Education Support also other national and international officials.

Ambassador of the United States (USA) in Kosovo, Greg Delawie had the opportunity to repeat the importance that the Government of the United States has for the Western Balkan countries.
In addition, he thanked the participants for their daily efforts to monitor borders, their care and cross-border crime detection, investigation and prosecution.

"The United States is challenged and we are pleased to support regional courses like this to help you to strengthen your abilities for performing this task. All of us here, engaged in public services, our job is to serve citizens and our countries, "said Delawie.

Delawie said that the development and strengthening of operational efficiency and the implementation of regulations in the regional boundaries are essential. He said that the joint work is very important for neighboring countries. "I hope that this training has better prepared you for the observation and analysis of the situation and to stop illegal activities," said Ambassador Delawie.

Whereas, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Valdet Hoxha, highly appreciating this training said, that all countries participating in the training are beneficiaries.

Also he expressed satisfaction that the training was attended by all countries of the region, overcoming challenges and creating bridges of communication, Liaison Bridges between them.

"Always happy that this training is organized here at Kosovo Academy for Public Safety with very good conditions for training and happy that the Kosovo Police is already one of the most reliable according to many surveys in the country and of many other cooperation agreements ", said Deputy Minister Hoxha,

He said that such trainings are permanent in preparing continuously safety mechanisms. Deputy Hoxha encouraged training participants and expressed the hope that these experiences will carry in their countries, particularly in agencies that work.

Director General of Kosovo Police Shpend Maxhuni, while greeting the participants said that through professional advancement knowledge are fulfilled objectives in a very specific segment such as integrated border management.
Mr. Maxhuni thanked the government of the United States for the continuous support given to Kosovo, and to Kosovo Police in law enforcement. "Thanks to this support we have achieved this professional level, aiming to advance further on the police," said Maxhuni mentioning that such training was attended by all countries of the region is a good example of peace in every country.

 "Today, safety is a very complex issue which exceeds national dimensions and this composition in which you are the best example of how to cooperate and interact in order of general safety," said Maxhuni.

At the end the certificates were awarded to the training attendees.  Also Mr.Cameron Fisher, ICITAP Program Manager, awarded Certificate of Appreciation to Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and for Director General Mr. Ismajl Smakiqi.
