Cooperation agreement is signed between the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and Police Academy of Montenegro
Vushtrri, March 4, 2016 - Two institutions of education and public security, Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS) and Police Academy of the Republic of Montenegro have signed a cooperation agreement, which aims to further strengthen mutual cooperation between these two institutions to support the strategic objectives in the fields of training, studying, research and development, and public relations.
This agreement was signed by the Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Ismail Smakiqi during a three-day official visit in Montenegro.
Kosovo delegation was hosted by the Director of the Police Academy in Danilovgrad, Rajko Pekoviq and senior advisers of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro.
During this visit the director Smakiqi and the director Pekoviq declared their support for common benefits for the institutions they lead. Both sides expressed their willingness to contribute to increase cultural, educational, research and development relation between Kosovo and Montenegro.
According to them this agreement creates the basis for future cooperation in the disciplines common to both institutions in field operations at three levels of education (vocational education, continuing professional education and higher education); the scope of research, exchange of information and results and the scope of the exchange of academic staff, students, training programs and research programs in the field of Public Safety.
During this visit at the request of the Police Academy of Montenegro, director Smakiqi handed bachelor study program to Director Pekoviq of public safety, law on Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and the rules for the functioning of higher education in KAPS.
In honor of this visit, the cadets of the Police Academy of Montenegro demonstrated to the delegation of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
Also during this visit the delegation from Kosovo, headed by the Director General of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Ismail Smakiqi visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, where they were welcomed by the Director General for Security, Defense and supervision in the ministry, Millosh Vukqeviq, director Vukqeviq on this occasion expressed his satisfaction on cooperation between the two academies and the need for exchange of experiences in the field of public safety.
He thanked the Director Smakiqi for offering bachelor study program of Public Safety.
In his official visit to Montenegro, supported by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, the Director General of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi was also accompanied by the director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Naim Shala, director of the Department for Human resources at the Kosovo Police, Lieutenant Agron Rukiqi, the Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety, Nazmi Iballi, Kastriot Jashari Director of DTES, Florentina Shala Professor at FPS. In this visit also participated Senior Advisers of the OSCE, Shpresa Muharremi,Shpresa Mulliqi and Bylent Ribari.
