On 1st February begins the implementation of the new Twinning project

Vushtrri, 19 January 2016 – On  February 1st begins the implementation of the second Twinning project  "Support of further education in public safety in Kosovo", a project which deals to improve education in the public security sector in Kosovo. This was announced today during a meeting that was held at the Academy on "Supporting further education in public security in Kosovo", which was attended by Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, representatives of the Public Safety Agencies, the prime minister's office, representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of European Integration, representatives of the National Qualifications Authority and the international partners of the EU office in Kosovo and OSCE.  

During the meeting,  officials of the Academy  presented the achievements and successful results from the previous  twinning Project which then meant "Improving education in the sectors of public order and security in Kosovo", through which became possible accreditation of the study program of BA level in public Safety at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety,  as a result of this Project was opened Faculty of Public Safety, which offers higher education for officials of the Public Security Agencies. 

Also during the meeting it was presented new twinning project "Support to further education in public safety in Kosovo. 

General Director of the Academy of Public Safety, Ismail Smakiqi highly appreciated the beginning of the second twinning project. While presenting the achievements of the Academy, appreciated as rather important project. 

“The implementation of this project is very important funded by the European Union in achieving the objectives in improving education in the public safety sector, "stressed Smakiqi by saying that this is an excellent opportunity for the Academy. 

While representatives from the office of the Prime Minister and ministries offered to the Academy support on the implementation of the second twinning project. 

Edon Myftari from Prime Minister's office said that since the war the Academy remains one of the most important institutions training of members of public safety. Unlike the new twinning project "Support to further education in public safety in Kosovo", funded by the European Commission in the amount of 1.4 million euros, will last three years and will be implemented by member states Finland and Estonia.
