40th generation of the Kosovo Correctional Service cadets has graduated

At the Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), today graduated the 40th
generation of the Kosovo Correctional Service (KCS), which counts 25 members.
The graduation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuçi,
General Director of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, and Chief of the Division of
EULEX Empowerment, Peter Bach, General Director of Kosovo Correctional Service,
Sokol Zogaj and representatives from other public safety agencies.
Minister of
Justice, Hajredin Kuçi, said during his speech that without correctional
service has no functional justice system. "It is good news for justice by
adding a large number of guardians, it is the last link, but is the most
important link in the justice system, Kuçi said that the qualified guardians should
feel proud of the work they have chosen.
"The
work that doing investigators, prosecutors and judges is useless, if serving
the sentence is not adequate. Feel proud that you are part of correctional
services and justice system, "said Kuci and expressed his willingness to
support continuously all guardians.
Chief of
the Division of EULEX Empowerment, Peter Bach said that the work of guardian is
a very difficult, but is proud to be part of this system.
"To be
a correctional officer is not easy, so I wish you success in your work,"
said Bach to the attendees. He said that EULEX welcomes the inclusion of this
generation in Correctional Service.
General
Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi
said that Academy has been and will continue to provide professional training
for members of the public safety.
He
said that the Academy is offering bachelor study program in the field of
security for all members of the public safety, among whom are officials of the
Kosovo Correctional Service.
"From
the Kosovo Correctional Service at the Faculty for Public Safety in the Academy
are registered 43 students who after graduation will gain managerial competence
and become specialists in the field," said Smakiqi.
In
front of the attendees He spoke for the second twinning project which aimed
developing of vocational training, support of bachelor study and
functionalization of research institute in the Academy.
"Increasing
the quality of training and higher education is the daily work of the Academy
and our partners such as ICITAP, OSCE and the European Commission," said
Smakiqi, He also said that in the Academy are currently attending training 24
officials of the Emergencies Agency from
the group of 80 members, who in the coming weeks will complete basic training.
Smakiqi
congratulated graduated cadets, by wishing the more professional service in
their work. Otherwise this training lasted 15 weeks.
