Minister Bajrami visited Kosovo Academy for Public Safety

Vushtrri, June 23, 2015 - Minister of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), Arsim Bajrami, today visited Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), where he was welcomed by the Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss about the draft law on Higher Education in Kosovo, namely the inclusion of the proposals and comments of the Academy. Director of the Academy for Public Safety, Ismail Smakiqi initially has thanked Minister Bajrami for support. Executive Smakiqi during the meeting spoke about the functioning of the Academy, training and activities. In particular emphasis Executive Smakiqi spoke about the establishment, opening and operation of the Faculty of Public Security, which is part of the Academy. 

While talking about the draft law on Higher Education in Kosovo, which is expected soon to be approved in the Assembly of Kosovo, Minister Bajrami said that the Academy marked great achievements.

"Every time I visit the Academy I see progress, this institution is the mirror of  our state achievements," said Bajrami.

He said he will support the Academy, namely the Faculty of Public Security in capacity building and development programs. He highly assessed the creation of curricula in the Faculty of Public Safety, as he said cycles are fully in accordance with the law and with the Bologna standards.

I congratulate you for curriculum, is the only institution where practical learning is evaluated with credits, "said Bajrami, who said that the establishment of Faculty government bodies is according to the law.

 "I wish you  to start with designing of master programs  in time so that those students who complete their studies, to begin studies on the master. We have recognized the Academy as a specific institution that offers a high special education, "Bajrami said. We wish that Academy to be the leader and the only one that provides standards in the security field ", he said.

At the end Bajrami expressed readiness to support the Academy in the future concretely Faculty of Public Safety.

While the Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety, Nazmi Iballi during the meeting spoke about the operation, mission and vision of the Faculty.

Proposal for inclusion of the Academy in the draft / Law on Higher Education in the Republic of Kosovo, which was presented by Shpend Shabani, Director of the Department for Strategic Planning and Legal Affairs has raised debate by teachers of the Faculty of Public Safety and was welcomed by Minister Bajrami.
