Drejtori Smakiqi priti në takim një delegacion të Universitetit Policor nga Munsteri i Gjermanisë
Vushtrri, 11 May 2015 - Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), today was visited by a delegation of the German Police University of Munster led by Gerd Thielmann, vice president of the university. The German delegation was hosted by the Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi.
The purpose of this visit was to establish cooperation and exchange of experiences between the German Police University and Kosovo Academy for Public Safety.
In honour of the visit of the delegation in question, the Academy organized the morning parade with cadets of 52 generation of the Kosovo Police.
Director General of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, appreciated highly the visit of the German delegation saying that such visits are a great support for Academy and inspiration for cadets to successfully complete their basic training.
"Kosovo Police Cadets in June will join eight thousand Kosovo Police officers who have been trained at the Academy. Here so far are trained over 12 thousand law enforcement from six Public Safety agencies, "said Smakiqi to those present
Smakiqi thanked all the international institutions, which have supported and continue to support the Academy such as; OSCE, ICITAP, the European Union and European countries separately.
Director Smakiqi said that the continuous partnership of Academy with international training institutions and agencies has made the Academy to be recognized internationally as a reliable and professional institution to provide training for Public Safety Agencies.
To the attendees Smakiqi expressed readiness for mutual cooperation.
In front of cadets of 52 generation of the Kosovo Police, spoke also the vice president of the Munster Police University from Germany, Gerd Thielmann.
He said that the police is one of the most important institution of the state.
"The police is a central and symbolic institution of a state. It symbolizes the fact that a society declares an independent state in a certain territory - a historical event that happened here in Kosovo. Therefore you are proud members of an institution which is vital for a state, "said Thielmann saying that good behaviour for all members of the police is essential for the organization and the state.
"To meet these ambitious requirements you need to have a comprehensive education such as basic training, advanced academic education oriented to judiciary, social science, criminal science or police tactics, etc." said Thielmann.
Thielman wish to the cadets of 52 generation of the Kosovo Police a fruitful education at the Academy for Public Safety and to be successful carrier of this education.
In front of the parade of cadets of 52 generation spoke and lieutenant-colonel Driton Zabërxha who appreciate as very important the visit of German delegation, and wish to cadets successes during training and duty as members of the Kosovo Police.
During this visit representatives of the Academy and representatives of the German Police University made a presentation where they spoke about the functioning and the education system in these two educational institutions.
At the end of the visit, Vice President of the Munster Police University from Germany, Gerd Thielmann, addressed a speech for the students of the Faculty of Public Safety, which is part of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety
The meeting was attended, Henrik Malmquist, director of the Department for Public Order and Safety; Carsten Twelmeier, deputy director of the Department for Public Order and Safety in the OSCE and other representatives of public safety agencies.
