It was attended the tenth Meeting of the Board Academy

Vushtrri, 09 March 2015 – Board of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), today attended the tenth meeting, on this occasion it was discussed about the issues in the field of KAPS Board- activities like as follows; election of the head of board for 2015, the review of annual working plan of the board for 2015, presentation of the twinning project, this is a project related to strengthening further public safety  in Kosovo and to analyse or review the work report of Academy for 2014.

Since a long-year mandate General Director of Kosovo Police, Shepend Maxhuni has been re-elected as a Head of Board Academy for Public Safety. Following the proposal by committee members for Head of Board and its own election, Mr. Maxhunaj promised to be committed even more in order Academy to be professional as well. 

The Board discussed and approved annual working plan of the board for 2015, related to; Professional Basic Standards, Policies for trainings in the field of public safety and Policies for specialized and advanced training as well. 

During the meeting Director of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety informed Board that will benefit or gain the second twinning project financed by European Union (EU) within IPA 2014, entitled annual program for Kosovo “Strengthening further education for public safety in Kosovo”. 

After it was completed successfully Twinning Project of IPA 1- entitled “Improvement of Education in Sectors of Public Order and Security” in order to meet all mandatory results to prepare KAPS- for providing higher education, the next project has an objective as well; “ Strengthening the rule of law to improve the system of public safety”, related to ‘’Reform and further development of public safety agencies according to the best practises of EU”. 

Also during the meeting Director of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Ismail Smakiqi presented the work of Academy done during the year 2014.

After reporting, all board members have congratulated Academy about the work performed during the year 2014 and encouraged academy to continue with successes further. 

In this meeting have participated General Director of Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, General Director of Kosovo Police, Shpend Maxhuni, who is also Head of Board, other board members, who are representatives of public safety agencies and international co-operators from OSCE- and ICITAP.
