The training "School of Police Staff and Command" has started

Vushtrri 18 august 2014 – At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), today has started the ten-week training "School of Police Staff and Command", which will be attended by 42 senior police leaders from all countries of the region.

Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA) Bajram Rexhepi, Director General of KAPS Smakiqi Ismail, Director General of the Kosovo Police Shpend Maxhunaj , ICITAP Program Manager for Kosovo Mr. Camerun Fisher and the representatives of the "Northwestern" University were present at the opening ceremony of this training.
This training, besides senior representatives of the Kosovo Police, will be attended by the senior representatives of the police of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro.

 Minister of Internal Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi, said that the joint training of police officers from the region will enable the intensification of cooperation with the aim of providing a peaceful and safe environment. "This model of training should be a model of cooperation among regional countries," Rexhepi said. Minister Rexhepi thanked ICITAP and the American government for the constant support that they are giving to Kosovo in all areas.

Organization of this training was highly appreciated by the Director General of the Kosovo Police, Shpend Maxhunaj . He said that this course will help the public safety officers to acquire even more knowledge in their field.

"This training gives the opportunity to prepare the staff of the safety institutions to understand much better the role of leader," said Maxhunaj.

Whereas the Director General of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi, said that the holding of this training at the Academy is a great privilege.

Regional dimension of the" International School "makes this ten-week course incomparable, especially when held by Northwestern University, the leader of Public Safety Universities in the world," Ismail Smakiqi said.

Ismail Smakiqi said that the holding of this training makes the Academy even more reliable for countries in the region and its partners, opens a partnership perspective with similar academic institutions in the region and wider.

Director Ismail Smakiqi estimated that the "International School of Police Staff and Command" is a unique opportunity for police officers of the region through which they increase the level of professionalism and gain excellent knowledge in the field of public safety.

The lessons that you will be provided undoubtedly will advance your knowledge in the field of public safety, will affect your professional performance and of the organizations where you work; it is also an excellent opportunity to exchange  experiences and strengthen mutual cooperation," Smakiqi said . This training is organized by ICITAP, while the lecturers will be given from Northwestern University.
