The 45th generation of the Kosovo Police Graduated
Vushtrri, October 18, 2013 - In the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety has graduated hundred and thirty-one Kosovo police cadets and fourteen cadets of Kosovo Police Inspectorate. Also at the Academy was promoted in the rank of lieutenant ninety-six officers of the Kosovo Police.
The graduation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi, General Director of Kosovo Police Shpend Mexhuni, General Director of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, Chief Executive of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate Fitim Shishani, General Director of Kosovo Customs Lulzim Rafuna and representatives of ICITAP, OSCE and KFOR. Minister of Internal Affairs Bajram Rexhepi wishing graduates success in the work, said that the ministry's mission is to foster the rule of law and public safety in general.
On this occasion, Minister Rexhepi has mentioned that the European Commission in the progress report for 2013 has positively assessed the issue of safety and the rule of law in the country.
He said that the Kosovo Police during these years remained the strongest pillars in the fight against organized crime by providing valuable contribution to the process of visa liberalization and European integration of the country.
"Kosovo police is the best evidence that Kosovo can build safety institutions and law enforcement agencies that guarantee affirmative representation of minority in the sufficient space for gender representation," said Rexhepi
The minister said that the police has always been and will remain at the service of all citizens in its territory.
Whereas the promotion of ninety-six police officers Minister said that the Government will continue to support the further advancement of the Kosovo Police and Kosovo Police Inspectorate.
Meanwhile, General Director of Kosovo Police Shpend Mexhuni, said that police is protector of individual and the public rights, respecter of law and order throughout the Republic of Kosovo.
Maxhuni said that the building of law enforcement institutions in the spirit of representative institutions, accountable and democratic is their vision to promote a more peaceful and secure life for all citizens
"Education and training in Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, has created the opportunity today to have KP and KPI police officers trained according to the standards and practices of the highest international law enforcement and human rights" , said Mexhuani.
Maxhuni said that the rule of law and order is an essential prerequisite today in all aspects of society as guarantors of which, he said, should be the new graduates. On this occasion Mexhuni said that the 96 promoted sergeants to the rank of lieutenant shows a development and capacity building of police and taking additional responsibilities in the implementation of police tasks and authorizations. He urged the Kosovo Police to provide law enforcement in Kosovo in a professional manner.
While the General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi initially congratulated cadets for their graduating.
"With work and dedication you have earned your first epithet, you are the model of good cadets," said Smakiqi. Smakiqi said that the Academy now is the center of all kinds of modern training for all Public Safety Agencies.
Smakiqi said that raising the quality of trainings and higher education is the daily work of the Academy and our partners, ICITAP, the OSCE and recently the European Commission through Twinning Project on improvement of education in the sectors of safety and public order. At the end Smakiqi said that the Academy will continue to provide trainings and modern education.
"Most sincere wishes for the success achieved in the final test. People eagerly await your involvement in the Kosovo Police and is yours turn, to demonstrate the skills you have learned and achieved at the academy. "Said Smakiqi.
Graduation of 45th Class of the Kosovo Police and the graduation of 14 cadets of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has welcomed the Chief Executive of KPI Fitim Shishani.
Shishani said that the KPI has performed and continue to perform its duties in the most efficient manner.
