Academy has signed an agreement with Estonia and Finland
Vushtri, September 9, 2013 - Kosovo Academy for Public Safety has signed cooperation agreements with the Estonian Academy of Public Safety and Finnish Police Academy. This was made during an official visit that the General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Mr. Ismail Smakiqi accompanied by the Head of External Relations, Mr. Avni Istrefi in Finland and Estonia. The three academies of Kosovo, Estonia and Finland have decided through this agreement to support each other for mutual benefit expressing their willingness to contribute to the improving of cultural, educational, research and development relations.
The cooperation agreement between the Estonian Academy for Public Safety and Finnish Police Academy are the first agreements with KAPS with Academies of the EU countries. These agreements are the result of recognition more closely by the three academies after more than a year and a half and the result of the Twinning Project of the European Commission, which is implemented by public safety experts from the respective Academies of Finland and Estonia. This agreement is especially valued by the fact that KAPS is accepted as mutual partner and we understand as encouragement on way and our mission, said director Smakiqi
The agreement includes development and coordination of under-graduate and post-graduate studies, research and development relations, exchange and visits of academic staff and student exchanges.
The agreement was signed by General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Mr. Ismail Smakiqi, and Rector of the Estonian Academy for Public Safety Lauri Tabura and Rector of Finnish Police Academy Kimmo Himberg.
Otherwise Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in September is expected to apply in Kosovo Accreditation Agency for program accreditation of the Faculty for Public Safety - Bachelor level and these agreements will serve to KAPS as support of international recognition of its values.
