German Embassy donated a donation for Kosovo Centre for Public Safety and for Public Safety Agencies.

Vushtrri, 20 July 2009 – Today at Kosovo Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development, German Embassy in cooperation with OSCE, solemnly donated a donation with a value of 50 thousand Euros. The donation contained books which mainly cover the safety sphere (Criminalistics, Emergency Planning, Community Policing, and Management Skills etc.), loading devise for extinguishers, compressor for loading of containers with oxygen, measuring compasses for Border Police and some equipment for night surveillance.  

In the ceremony were present the German Ambassador, Mr. Hans-Dieter Steinbach, Chief of OSCE Mission in Kosova, ambassador Werner Almhofer, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs,  Mr. Fatmir Xhelili, Acting  Executive Head of Centre for Public Safety, Miss. Taibe Canolli,  Director of Kosova Police, Mr. Sheremet Ahmeti, President of Vushtrri Municipality, Mr. Bajram Mulaku, as well aother officuials from German Embassy, Ministry of Internal Affairs, OSCE, Kosova Police, Department for Emergency Management and from Vushtrri Municipality.

Mr. Heins Schneider – chief of  section for Development of Safety Sections in Kosovo, who on behalf of German Embassy and OSCE greeted the participants who were present in this ceremony.  He said that “the importance of this donation is a particular one, because it will help the agencies of law enforcement for training but as well will serve in particular to the Centre for Public Safety Education and Development (KCPSED) in the area of international Accreditation and Certification”. 
In his speech, German Ambassador, Mr. Hans-Dieter Steinbach highly appreciated the cooperation between OSCE and KCPSED, in the area of enhancing the training level for Public Safety agencies officials. He said that these devices will enable not only a theoretical training but as well a practical one. Support for Border Police should be reinforced not only to enhance the safety in Kosovo, but as well to help in the process of visa  liberalization”, said German Ambassador , Mr. Steinbach.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr.Fatmir Xhelili said "Kosovo Centre for Public Safety Education and Development will be equipped with sophisticated technical means raising thus its capacity for training and professionalizing of Agencies officials who are dealing with Law enforcement”. 

Subsequently Mr. Xhelili thanked the Embassy of Germany for “providing continued support for democratization and development of Kosovo. In this spirit is the support being offered to the Centre for Public Safety Education and Development ", said Mr. Xhelili

He further said that “so far successes are attributed to our partners as well.
Deputy Minister Xhelili assured that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is committed to all its capacities and mechanisms, with particular emphasis on the Kosovo Police, to be on duty level and to ensure the rule of law

Ceremony greeted the OSCE Ambassador, Mr. Almhofer, who highly appreciated the high importance of the Centre for Public Safety Education and Development.
"This Centre plays an important role and we know that the outcome of all this is security in Kosovo. During 10 years much has been done in KCPSED to continuously increase the quality of training, "said Mr. Almhofer

After closing of this ceremony, Department of Emergency Management made a demonstration in loading of containers with oxygen. This demonstration was done with equipment donated by the Embassy of Germany in Kosovo
