U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Ann Jacobson visited KAPS

 Vushtrri, January 17, 2013 - General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (AKSP) Ismail Smakiqi, today hosted the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson. The purpose of this visit was that the Ambassador Jacobson to be informed more closely with developments in KAPS. Initially director Smakiqi informed the Ambassador about the history of the Academy as well as current developments in KAPS. Director Smakiqi expressed gratitude for the assistance that KAPS partners such as ICITAP and the OSCE are continuing to provide support since its establishment, and this support continues to be essential for the Academy.
Smakiqi during this meeting informed the Ambassador with training activities that are taking place in the Academy.
 "Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in the current profile will be permanent, since the Public Safety Agencies need ongoing trainings in basic, specialized, advanced and leadership training, "said Smakiqi. On this occasion director Smakiqi has highly appreciated the good cooperation with the United States of America
He said that the support of Ambassador Jacobson and continued assistance from the United States is of great help for Kosovo and KAPS. Director Smakiqi expressed willingness to deepen bilateral cooperation in the implementation of joint projects that have as objective improving conditions for public safety members who are trained at the academy. Meanwhile, the U.S. Ambassador in Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson said that her country will continue to strongly support the Academy in advancement its functions.
Jacobson said that she was pleased to visit the Academy and meet with cadets and members of the public safety in Kosovo. She noted that the rule of law is one of the priorities of the U.S. government and the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo.
She said that is ready to continue cooperation even further with the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety
