Vushtrri, July 20, 2012 - U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, for members of the Kosovo Police (KP) and those of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), today granted a donation of equipment against weapons of mass destruction, donation worth $ 364 thousand dollars. For that, American Embassy has organized a two days training during which the members of the security are trained to maintain, repair of equipment for detection of weapons of mass destruction.
In the ceremony of the donation, which was held in Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), takes place U.S. Deputy Ambassador in the Kosovo Kelly Degnan, General Director of KAPS, Ismail Smakiqi, deputy of general director of the Kosovo Police Dejan Jankoviq, operational director of directorate in the Ministry of Security Force, Imri Ilazi.
U.S. Deputy Ambassador Degnan said that this donation is very important for Kosovo and its security.
On this occasion representatives of KP and KSF, highly appreciated this donation and training.
They said that in this training the members of the Kosovo Police and those of Security Forces gained the knowledge of how to act in case of existence of weapons of mass destruction.
Representatives of public safety members assessed that the use of equipment and the development of several simulation exercises that are held in KAPS, makes members highly professional to be faced with the threat of weapons of mass destruction.
At the end, the participants thanked the United States of America for helping Kosovo, specifically Security Forces.
