At KAPS graduated the 43rd generation of Kosovo Police

Vushtrri, July 13, 2012 – After a twenty-week of training at Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), on Friday graduated one hundred and thirty-three new cadets for the Kosovo Police. In this generation there are 13 women and 17 minorities.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi, General Director of Kosovo Police, Shpend Maxhuni, Rector of the Prishtina University Mujë Rugova, the Kosovo Security Force Commander, Kadri Kastrati, General Director of the Academy, Ismail Smakiqi, Head of the Supreme Court, Fejzullah Hasani, representatives of diplomatic offices in Kosovo, representatives of ICITAP, OSCE and representatives of other institutions in the country.

Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Bajram Rexhepi said that newly graduated officers will receive new duties and responsibilities for maintaining peace and order for all citizens of Kosovo.

During his speech he said that Kosovo police is among the most advanced Institutions in the country. The minister congratulated the new cadets in their work and asked from them concrete commitment in field work and respect for their supervisors

"Police work is considered the most dangerous jobs. Our joint work and overcoming the challenges certainly require sacrifice, but always is paid off and in this occasion, the KP is the best argument that these sacrifices and hardships are paid off with great achievements and support of Kosovo's citizens, "said Rexhepi. Minister on this occasion said that the Kosovo Academy with the support of OSCE, ICITAP and European Commission will be a good example for the entire region and beyond.

"Also I believe that with the undertaken reforms and achieved results, we advance in the European integration process and I am sure that some of you will also contribute to regional and international security as part of international missions," said Minister Rexhepi. Whereas, the General Director of Kosovo Police,  Shpend Maxhuni, said that the Kosovo Police will continue to be committed to being professional, developed and modern, towards meeting its goals that are fighting of organized crime, corruption, entire  informal economy, and the advancement of border control and security.

On this occasion Director Maxhuni said that the Kosovo Police is the vision of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo

The general director of Kosovo Academy, Mr. Ismail Smakiqi congratulated the cadets for their graduation; in the meantime he said that as police officers you will be faced with successes and challenges during performing your duties. Director Smakiqi said that the Academy will continue to contribute in the training of law enforcement officers, respecting of order and security in our country. “Academy is an institution of all types of most contemporary trainings for all participants of public safety. Academy is ready to get responsibility in higher education for all Public Safety Agencies ", said Mr. Smakiqi that the quality improvement of training and higher education are priorities of the Academy.
