KFOR Commander Erhard Drews visited the Academy
Vushtrri, March 1, 2012- Kosovo Academy for Public Safety today visited KFOR Commander Major General Erhard DREWS.
Erhard DREWS was hosted by the General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi, lieutenant Colonel Driton Zabërxha and high management of the academy.
During the meeting Smakiqi informed the delegation about training activities that taking place at the Academy. He also spoke about the changes that are made with the approval of the new law of the Academy as well as important projects and in particular of twinning project funded by the European Commission that has to do with improving education in the public safety sector in the Republic of Kosovo.
"Your visit is of special importance for the Academy, and it proves once again the continuing cooperation between the Academy and KFOR in establishing the overall safety for all citizens of Republic of Kosovo", said Smakiqi.
KFOR Commander Major General Erhard DREWS addressing to young cadets in his speech said that the police profession is not easy. He told to the young cadets that police should carry out work in a professional manner.
"The success of the Kosovo Police officers relies on two main pillars, the first is professionalism, the way you perform your duties as officers belonging to police and the second pillar is trust that you must create to the your population, whether the north or south and it can only be achieved with commitment, "said the KFOR commander.
While representative of the Kosovo Police Lt. Col. Driton Zabërxha said that cooperation between Kosovo Police and KFOR has been and will continue in the future. He said that the training of the Kosovo Police in Academy is being done with European standards.
During this visit was organized parade of the 43 generation of the Kosovo Police.
