At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety started Inspection course

Pristina, February 13, 2012 – At the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety (KAPS), started a basic course for inspection to officers of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo. This Training Program was organized by the Training Support International Crime Investigation in Kosovo (ICITAP).This ceremony was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi, Chief Executive of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, Fitim Shishani, ICITAP manager in Kosovo, Darrel Hart and senior officials of the KAPS. Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi, ICITAP thanked for continual support being offered by members of public safety. He stressed that democratic oversight of security institutions is one of the main prerequisites of the modern state based on respect for human rights and democratic values.
 So far work of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo has directly impacted the quality of the Kosovo Police as the most trusted institution in the Republic of Kosovo. Cooperation between police and inspectorate ensures order and security for all citizens of the country, "said Minister Rexhepi. Minister Rexhepi pointed out that among the responsibilities of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, which is prescribed in law for the KPI has to do with the inspection of structures and functions of the Kosovo Police, to ensure accountability and efficiency in the way of performance of duties by police officers and assumed that attendance rate for inspection is very important for the PIK officers. As Chief Executive Officer of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, Fitim Shishani said that training for inspection is very important for the PIK officers. He said that this training will enable officers to establish continuing professional by ensuring that the law is applied in a professional manner. Course inspection will last two weeks.
