At KCPSED is held mini Olympiad for persons with disabilities

Vushtrri, 19 June ‘10 - For the sixth time at the Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development (KCPSED) mini Olympiad is being held for people with disabilities which is organized by OPFAKOS. In this mini Olympiad participated about 450 persons, followed by family members and organizers of this Mini Olympiad

At the official opening of mini Olympiad were present officials of the Centre, officials from the OSCE and KFOR members. On behalf of OPFAKOS- the Chairman of this organization Gani Mehmeti thanked the participants. During his speech he emphasized that it is very important that these people have found support from KCPSED and the OSCE. "This support that is being done now is a very good example which should be followed," said Mehmeti. Thanking the KCPSED staff who voluntarily expressed willingness to work during these two days as this mini Olympiad will last; Mr. Mehmeti has expressed his desire that this cooperation will continue in future. "For six years we find great support from the Centre for the Public Safety, Education and Development. We are very grateful to donors as OSCE, MIA, KCPSED and sports department in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports who have supported this mini Olympiad ''said Mehmeti.
The persons that were present were welcomed by Centre management, who were assured that they will have full support of the Centre. Program Support Director Mr Ali Bajgora, speaking on behalf of the Centre, expressed appreciation for the four agencies within the Centre that have helped, supported the organization of this mini Olympiad. Also in this case Mr. Bajgora thanked the OSCE financial support of this mini Olympiad. He also showed the hope that participants in this mini Olympiad during these two days will accomplish all their activities
“I believe that during these two days with voluntary support of Centre staff you will fulfil many activities and would feel as good as at your home "said Bajgora.
After the official opening, participants continued competition in various sports activities like running with the wheelchairs, basketball, handball, dart, shooting etc. Mini Olympiad will last to days and tomorrow will be distributed medals and recognition for best winners. KCPSED this time as well is general sponsor of this Mini Olympiad, while participants are supported with transport, accommodation and food.
