At the Academy was held a presentation by Dr. Remzije Istrefi- Coordinator at Erasmus + Office

Vushtrri, 07 March 2017 – Today, Kosovo Academy for Public Safety was visited by the Coordinator of Erasmus + Office Dr. Remzije Istrefi, where she also held a presentation to the attendees

The attendees to this meeting were the Director General of the Academy Mr. Ismail Smakiqi, Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety at KAPS, Mr. Bejtush Gashi, Mr. Agron Rukiqi from Kosovo Police, teachers and students of FPS.

At this meeting the Mr. Ismail Smakiqi – the Director General of the Academy, held a speech to the participants, emphasizing that for the Faculty of Public Safety and in general for Kosovo Academy of Public Safety it is a great pleasure to have here Mrs. Remzije Istrefi, where she will held a lecture to teachers and to students of the Faculty of Public Safety.

Further Mr. Smakiqi added that the European Union Erasmus + program was established to support education, training, youth and sport, financing the programs, projects and scholarships, as well as strengthens its cooperation among the European Union and between other countries of the globe.
“Kosovo Academy for Public Safety is an observing member of the Association of European Police Colleges – AEPC, full member of the International Association of Police Academies – INTERPA and I am attending at annually meeting as a member of the International Association of Directors and Law Enforcement Standards training – IADLEST, based in the United States. Additionally, this month KAPS is expected to sign the so-called Working Agreement with the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training - CEPOL "said Mr. Smakiqi.
Mr. Smakiqi also has spoken about the four-year Bachelor program in Public Safety in KAPS established on 2014. Since that time he has added that the  KAPS officials, mainly teachers of the Faculty of Public Safety and the Officials of Division for Foreign Relations, have participated  in total of ten events at the  Erasmus + Office in Kosovo, starting from information days for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 various seminars of Reform of Higher Education Experts in Kosovo on topics such as internationalization and mobility, cooperation of  Western Balkans with Nordic and Baltic countries, the professional dimension in higher education, e-learning, the quality in international cooperation, as well as roundtable discussions, such as that for institutional initiatives to encourage quality teaching in higher education.

Mr. Smakiqi said that during these years, thanks to the Erasmus + program, the KAPS has managed to send two teachers for two-week staying and two students for five-month stay at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. Moreover, two members of the administrative staff dealing with international relations have stayed in autumn of last year for a study visit week to the main Firefighter school in Warsaw, Poland.
“Kosovo Academy for Public Safety always will be supportive to all activities and development of international cooperation, especially those organized by the European Union Erasmus + program, to which the main purpose is to raise the quality education and international experiences to students, teachers and administrative staff, "said Smakiqi
 
 

Whereas, the Dean of the Faculty of Public Safety Mr. Bejtush Gashi thanked Mrs. Istrefi for the time shared, for her help and possibility that has given a chance to the Faculty of Public Safety to be part of this program. He said that through this project we have been able to benefit from international education experience and education. "We hope this dynamism and this cooperation will continue in the future, and I’m using the opportunity on behalf of colleagues, professors and students, to thank you for the opportunity and support that we are part of the projects of international cooperation by taking the best possible experiences " concluded Mr. Gashi.
From her side the Coordinator of Kosovo Erasmus+ office, Dr.Remzije Istrefi thanked Director Smakiqi for the possibility of presentation the Erasmus + program. She added that the Erasmus + program, is the European Union Program to support higher education in all European Union countries, with a particular focus on the western Balkans. Then, she continued widely to inform participants about the Erasmus + program activities. At the end of the presentation have had questions and discussions by the students and the participants related to the programs offered by Erasmus +.

Also during this lecture have had a presentation from Mr. Avni Istrefi, Head of the Division for Foreign Relations at KAPS about the experiences of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Public Safety at  KAPS, the international mobility of credits held at the Academy of Estonian Security Sciences ( AESS) within Erasmus + program
Then the teachers Ferid Azemi and Besnik Fetahu had held presentations about the experiences of students of the Faculty of Public Safety at KAPS in the international mobility of credits which was held in the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences (AESS) within Erasmus + Program

In this Lecture were also presentations by Shefik Xhaqkaj and Mal Morina students of the Faculty of Public Safety at the Academy.
